Ringly are one of the pioneers of smart jewelry, and probably the most famous brand after launching their chic smart ring while the idea of cramming tech into bling was still only a vision to other players.
Ringly have recently announced a new addition to their wearable tech collection, but instead of teching up your finger, the company are aiming to occupy your wrist real estate with a fine and clever bracelet.
The new smart bracelet has been named Aries and comes with the tagline “The smartest bracelet you’ve ever seen”. It offers the same functions as its finger dwelling ancestor, but with the addition of some basic activity tracking – steps taken and calorie output.
Concealed inside the semi-precious gemstone is a vibration motor with four different settings. There’s also a five color LED on the side of the bracelet. When your smartphone receives an incoming call, text message, calendar reminder or notification from over 100 popular apps, including HealthKit, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Bumble, Facebook and Instagram the bracelet will buzz you and subtly light up. Different vibration patterns and colors can customized for different callers and notification types.
The Aries smart bracelet works with the Ringly app which is compatible with iOS and Android. With such a limited space to work with, Ringly have done well with the battery life – lasting up to 48 hours, depending on how popular you are of course.
There are fitness trackers around with a lot more features, but none that I can think of that look so much like a traditional and elegant jewelry piece as the Aries bracelet. It comes in four different styles, each crafted with hand-cut semi-precious gemstones with an option of gold-plating and accented crystal or stud details.
The Aries Crystal comes in either Labradorite or Rainbow Moonstone. The Aries Pyramid Stud in either Tourmalated Quartz or Lapis. All four styles come in 6.5” or 7.5” sizes.
The new smart bracelet is now available to preorder for $195 USD – down from the $279 retail price. The expected shipping date is sometime this summer.
