The latest in Garmin’s XT sports watch series, the FR735XT is now available. According to Garmin, the new multisport GPS watch is their most capable running companion to date.
Running dynamics include: VO2 max, lactate threshold, stride length, ground contact time, recovery advisor, pace, projected finish time, and plenty more.
Along with running, the FR735XT is geared up for hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, paddle sports and strength training. It’s also smart in the water with features such as automatic stroke recognition and open water tracking.
The FR735XT is a step up from its predecessor, the 920XT as it has a built-in optical heart rate monitor. If you still prefer the accuracy of a HRM chest strap, the option is available to pair the watch via ANT+. The optical HRM works under water so you can measure your BPM during swims.
The Garmin Foreunner 735XT comes with a full suite of activity tracking features. It will keep track of your steps, distance, calories, and with an onboard independent GPS come many more outdoor tracking possibilities, such as real-time speed and location. It will also automatically monitor your sleep and wake you up with a silent alarm.
The new super sports watch is smart as well as fit. It will deliver smart notifications for incoming calls, texts, emails and social media to your wrist. It works with the Garmin Connect IQ platform so you can customise it by downloading watch faces, widgets, apps, data fields and more.
Garmin have integrated the leading running and cycling app, Strava. The Strava Live Suffer Score ranks your efforts based on heart rate data. purchasing the Forerunner 735XT includes a free 60-day trial to Strava Premium.
The Garmin Forerunner 735XT is now available for $449.99 USD. A HRM-Run bundle is also on offer for $499.99, and HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim bundles for $599.99.
