Google has been doing amazing stuff in the recent years. Self-driving cars, stunning street views, sophisticated search algorithms, and, of course, smart devices.

If you’re into smart devices, for example, you should definitely check out what the developers at Google came up with because their technology will surprise you. Let’s see the latest and the most interesting smart devices developed by Google in this article so you know what amazing things they can do for you.

Google Home

This smart device debuted in 2016 and was good from the start. It’s powered by the voice-activated AI called Google Assistant and is trying hard to catch up with the leader of the home smart device market, Amazon Echo.

The device connects to your Wi-Fi using the Google Home app (available for Android and iOS). A quick connection to your Google account and you’re ready to go. It’s conversationally aware and very much accessible to talk to because of the amazing technology that recognizes natural, conversational language we humans use every day.

The list of the things that you can do with Google Home includes dialing out with your mobile phone number, perform a local business search, broadcast a message across other speakers in your home, get weather reports and information, stock prices, sports scores, reminders, and of course, voice-control your smart devices. The technology of speech recognition used to deliver these tasks is similar to natural language processing used in essay technology  applied by universities to grade written content.

The range of devices supported by Google Home is still fairly limited but includes such popular products as Philips Hue lights, Samsung SmartThings, and Nest thermostats.

The product is available in Google’s official store in three versions: Google Home ($129), Google Home Mini ($49), and Google Home Max ($399).

Google Wi-Fi

Google has been promoting the Wi-Fi as a perfect replacement for the existing routers because it provides a strong signal and a whole home coverage. Indeed, if you want to extend fast internet to every corner of your home, you should definitely consider this Wi-Fi system because it’s the easiest, most manageable, and powerful unit that you can buy.

The setup of the device is super easy: just download a special Google Wi-Fi app (also available for Android and iOS, and it will configure your network automatically by scanning the QR code on the Wi-Fi points connected to your modem and power. The entire process of configuration takes seconds.

The search giant promises that three Wi-Fi points can cover up to 4,500 square feet in a home. That’s more than enough! Besides, the performance does get affected a lot despite the wide coverage.

Cost: $299 in the official Google Store.

Nest Thermostat

This product by Nest, a Google-owned company, is an incredibly efficient, easy-to-use, and a great looking thermostat that is also an easy way of saving money on your future heating bills. It does so by tracking and learning your temperature preferences and scheduling programs by itself accordingly.

“You won’t need to adjust the temperature very often as well as overpay for heating,” says Ben Nash, a Nest thermostat user and a digital marketer from A-Writer. “It needed only a week to adjust to my routine.”

While the price of $250 makes it one of the most expensive smart thermostats out there, the product itself is a good investment in the long-term. Moreover, it works with other Nest products, Google products, and Amazon Alexa.

Nest Cam Indoor Security Camera

Another product from Google-owned Nest Labs is an intelligent home security camera which produces high-quality imaging to deliver a premium monitoring solution. It packs in an 8-megapixel, 4K sensor that supports smart imaging features such as 1080p video output, facial recognition, night vision, two-way audio, 130-degree field of view, and others.

The setup is as simple as with many smart devices mentioned above. All you have to do is download the Nest App from the official site, scan the QR code at the base of the camera and provide it with the name and the password of your Wi-Fi network. Now, you can access the live feed on your smartphone and get notified if the camera detects notion or people it’s now familiar with in your house. The facial recognition feature works extremely well, and the manufacturer promises to add pet recognition in the nearest future.
