Garmin have announced yet another addition to their wearable tech family, this time it comes in the form of a multisport GPS watch, and the latest member of the revered Forerunner series.
Garmin’s new wearable is called the Forerunner 735XT, possibly referring to the 735th wearable they’ve announced over the last few months..
The world’s leading GPS company are saying the new Forerunner 735XT is their most capable running watch so far. The bottom line is, it has more functions than the Pope! I would’ve turned to dust long before I could squeeze them all into this puny article..
Like its predecessor, the Forerunner 920XT, the new wearable is geared up for running, swimming and cycling; bringing advanced metrics such as VO2 max estimate, recovery advisor, lactate threshold, ground contact time (GCT) stride length, automatic stroke recognition and open water tracking. There are also modes/profiles for skiing, paddleboarding, and strength training.
Setting it apart from the 920XT, the FR735 comes with Garmin’s Elevate optical heart rate monitoring technology, so you can take BPM readings from your wrist. There’s also the option to pair it with Garmin HRM chest straps via ANT+ for more accuracy during high-intensity training.
Not many stones are left unturned! It includes all the activity tracking essentials – steps, calories, distance; and real-time speed stats by way of GPS. If that’s not enough, you can go to bed at night resting assured your hi-tech wearable will monitor your sleep quality and wake you up with a silent vibrating alarm.
The FR735XT comes with smart notifications – calls, text, email and social media apps. It’s compatible with Garmin Connect IQ, which means watch faces, widgets, data fields, apps and more are available to download for free. The new super GPS watch is also compatible with the Varia Rearview Radar, Varia Smart Bike Lights, Varia Vision Heads Up Display, and pretty much every Garmin Gadget beginning with a V.
Garmin have integrated the leading running and cycling app, Strava. The Strava Live Suffer Score ranks your efforts based on heart rate data. Buying the FR735XT will get you a 60-day free trial to Strava Premium. The Garmin Connect app is compatible With android 4.3 + / iOS (iPhone 4S +) / Windows 10 + / Desktop/Laptop – so just about everyone is covered..
