Fossil Q Wander and Q Marshal Android Wear Watches Landing This Month

Two new Android Wear smartwatches from Fossil will be available to pre-order from August 12th, and will be hitting the shelves on August 29th starting at $295 USD.

Fossil released their first Android Wear smartwatch, the Q Founder back in November 2015. The two new watches landing this month are called the Q Wander and Q Marshal.

Both smartwatches run Android Wear, the difference here is in the design. The Q Wander has the more affectionate aesthetics. It has a 44mm case with sculpted wire lugs and a rose gold finish.

The Q Marshal has a 46mm case and more rugged build with inward-curving lugs and a navy blue metallic finish. Both watches come with a choice of interchangeable straps: leather, stainless steel, and silicone

On board both Q’s is a microphone and speaker, so Android phone users can chat with Google Now. The watches are compatible with iPhones but with fewer features – including voice.

There’s notifications galore with a vibration feature; fitness tracking and third-party app integration such as Google Fit, UA Record, MyFitnessPal, and UP by Jawbone, but no built-in heart rate monitor or GPS. The watches are Wi-Fi enabled, offer 4GB of storage, IP67 water-resistance, and are compatible with iOS 8.0 + and Android 4.3 +.

Despite what’s hopefully Fossil’s best efforts, the circular displays on both watches “still” have a slice missing out of the bottom like the Q Founder. But, the new watches do have a speaker which the Q Founder lacks.

Fossil said they would be releasing 100 connected wearables before the end of 2016. Not all the following devices have been released yet, but they are all set for availability in 2016:

Fossil Activity trackers: Q Reveler, Q Dreamer, Q Motion.

Fossil Smart analogue watches: Q Grant, Q Tailor, Q Nate, Q Crewmaster, Q Glazer, Q54 Pilot.

Fossil Smartwatches: Q Founder, Q Wander, Q Marshal.

The brands involved in the upcoming launches include Michael Kors Access watches as well as Diesel, Skagen, Emporio Armani, and Kate Spade. Also, Fossil own Misfit, so maybe we can include the Misfit Ray, Shine 2 and Shine 2 Swimmers Edition.

The Fossil Q Marshal and Q Wander are available now starting at $479 USD
