U.S-based Martian are one of the pioneering companies in the realm of the smart analog watch. a.k.a. hybrid smart watch.

Martian released their first analog hybrid with connected features, including voice commands and calling. Martian were also the first wearable tech firm to equip the wrist with Siri and Google Now.

The Martian PT 02 hybrid smart watch is the company’s latest release, and second in the mVoice PT Series. It sports a distinctive, retro design, similar in shape to the Electra series. It has a 42mm durable black resin case and 22mm interchangeable leather strap.

Onboard the Martian PT 02 is a directional speaker and noise-cancelling mic which enables you to use the watch to access the voice command feature on your iPhone or Android smartphone, when you’re connected via Bluetooth LE.

The watch can be used to initiate calls, send voice-to-text messages and emails and listen to them via voice, plus notifications from thousands of the best apps. You can also use the watch to initiate web searches, request music playlists, control your smartphone’s camera, make notes, set calendar reminders, find your phone, and get turn-by-turn navigation.

The Martian PT 02 plays nicely with Amazon Alexa so you can shop, get weather updates, control your smart home gadgets, and do whatever else you do with the smart assistant by talking to your wrist.

The watch uses analog quartz watch with Miyota movement. Underneath the scrath-resistant crystal, embedded into the analog dial is a 96 x 16 px OLED display to show your smart information. There’s also a vibration feature.

The Martian PT 02 hybrid smart watch is IPX4 slash-proof. It uses two batteries; one powering the analog display which lasts for around 2 years and never needs charging. The other powering the smart features lasts for around 5 days between charges – charging time is under 2 hours.

The PT 02 is compatible with iOS 9.0 + and Android 5.0 +. At under $200 USD it’s not too pricey. There’s no denying the amount of smart features onboard the watch, but in terms of looks it doesn’t offer the class and attention to detail as the Swiss made hybrid watches.
