The Armani Exchange Hybrid smartwatch will be available to buy from the start of February 2017.
Armani Exchange is one of the least expensive of the six Armani lines. The more widely recognized Emporio Armani already have their EA Connected hybrid watch on the shelves with a price tag starting at $295 USD.
A price for the new Armani Exchange hybrid watch hasn’t been revealed yet, but as Emporio is a more exclusive club than Exchange, it’s likely to be cheaper than the EA Connected.
It’s called the AX Connected (AX is the Armani Exchange logo) and offers a casual, urban look – emblematic of AX designs. The watch’s smart features are backed up by Fossil and Intel who are on a mission to rule the hybrid watch world.
The AX Connected will be available in available in four, bold colorways. It has a beefy 44mm case made of silicone, so it’s quite a chunky number and would probably complement the dynamics of a hairy man arm.
The hybrid watch connects wirelessly with Android and iOS smartphones and tablets using Bluetooth within a range of 84 feet. It features automatic time sync with your phone, and a Second Time Zone feature enables you to quickly check the time when you’re off traveling. The watch will keep track of your activities – steps, goals, etc, and monitor your sleep. It also features a silent alarm and smart notifications for calls, texts and app alerts.
The AX Connected can be used to ring your phone in the annoying instance of misplacing it, plus you can use it to remotely control your smartphone’s music player and camera.
The watch has a waterproof rating of 5 ATM (50 meters) and a six month battery life with no charging required.
According to the Armani Exchange press release; their new hybrid smartwatch is just beginning of things to come in 2017 in terms of connected gear, and they’re building momentum for the release of a fully fledged, touchscreen smartwatch.
